PROGRAM OVERVIEW

BUILDING BRIDGES, DRIVING SOLUTIONS

Transform your passion into purpose by joining a network of professional women of faith working together to build bridges and improve the communities around us! Over the course of nine months, we will guide you through a series of dialogues, reflections, and learning opportunities from diverse perspectives. Some of these experiences may be intense, while others may be rejuvenating; however, all will be thought-provoking.

Our cohort leadership projects will focus on domestic violence within faith communities. We acknowledge the emotional weight this topic carries and are committed to holding a supportive, trauma-informed space for all participants. In close-knit groups, alongside our organizational partners, we will work together to develop actionable, community-based solutions that curtail domestic violence in our region.

Strengthen your community and amplify your impact through this transformative, multi-stage experience focused on dialogue, action, and empowerment.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Do I have to attend every session?

Full participation is essential to the project’s success and group experience. Please commit only if you can attend all scheduled sessions, understanding that unforeseen conflicts may occur.

How long is the program?

Mosaic is a three-stage project that spans a period of nine months. In the first stage, we take the time to learn about one another, the second stage involves the guided creation of a community-based intervention, and the third stage is pitching the projects to an audience.

What is the time commitment for participants?

The minimum time commitment is for monthly sessions, which are two and a half hours each.

Is this program open to women of all faith communities?

Yes, Mosaic is open to women from all faith communities in Houston, including those who identify as spiritual but not religious, non-theistic, or from indigenous/earth-based traditions.

Why was domestic violence chosen as the subject?

The issue of domestic violence is prevalent in all faith communities and must be continuously addressed through innovative methods.

How will the program ensure proposals are well-developed and realistic?

Facilitators and domestic violence organizations will guide participants in refining their ideas and outlining proposals, which will then be pitched to the larger group.

Will domestic violence be the subject for future cohorts?

No, domestic violence will not be the ongoing focus. The next Mosaic Leadership Circle cohort will concentrate on a new set of issues, providing an opportunity to explore a range of topics affecting Houston.

Will there be additional time to meet my cohort?

Yes! We will have two optional mixers and opportunities to meet at separate events.

Will we have project support?

Yes, absolutely! Participants will receive comprehensive project support throughout all three stages of the program from qualified facilitators and advisors.

Will there be an alumni network?

Yes, an alumni network will be established for participants to continue their connections and collaborative efforts. More specific plans and details regarding the alumni network will be released in December.
